games

Below are samples of my spec work based on existing games and game settings.

While not directly tied to my professional work, this game work demonstrates my writing abilities across different mediums, as well my approach to game design, and is a great opportunity to bring together my passions of writing and video games.

the incan gods - overwatch character concept

“Whomever weilds this Tumi, surrenders themselves in service of the Gods.”

As a fan of Overwatch’s culturally diverse roster, I wanted to bring forth some of my Peruvian heritage into the game’s rich lore.

Antonio Perez is a concept for a new zoning-based support class hero. Using abilties inspired by the Incan Gods, Antonio is able to open new routes for allies and make others difficult for foes.

The hero’s zoning abilties encourages strategic gameplay, as well as opens new geometry and routes for certain characters which could introduce a shift to Overwatch’s competitive landscape.

the simpsons: hit & run - alternate ending

“Then we must destroy this nuclear plant which should be easy to do with our technology which is so rudimentary to us but so advanced to them!” - Kang

Ever since I was a child, The Simpsons: Hit & Run’s final missions have plagued me. Ending the game by repeating the last mission three times with unmotivated, increasingly punishing time constraints? D’oh!

This mission concept (‘In-D’oh-Pendence Day’) tests the player’s abilities in an all-new ending to the classic game.

When evil aliens Kang and Kodos set their sights on destroying the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, it’s up to Homer to thwart them the only way he knows how - by causing a meltdown!

New tractor beam environmental features will push the player’s driving and platforming skills, before opening a new playable area in one of Springfield’s most iconic locations - the plant’s cooling towers.

fantasy weapon descriptions

“Whether a lowly looter or a maniacal lord, street justice comes for all.” - The Emboldened Brawl, Knuckle Dusters

Inspired by the likes of The Witcher, The Elder Scrolls, and tabletop role-playing sessions, this weapons list details various concepts to fill out a fantasy arsenal.

Ranging from more conventional genre pieces to tongue-in-cheek weapons, the list is designed to detail equipment that will make for unforgettable combat experiences for the player.
